ABOUT US

What might appear at first glance as just another rural New England town is anything but. Local Goddard College has always attracted educated liberal types with colorful flair, including members of the band Phish, David Mamet, Piers Anthony, and abstract artist Robert M. Fisher. An art gallery, bookstore, pizza place, and community-maintained flower garden add to the charm.

CLASSIC PLAINFIELD:

GODDARD COLLEGE What began as a seminary spanning the years 1863 to 1937 is now a unique, low-residency Adult Degree Program focusing on liberal arts and fine arts. http://www.goddard.edu/

Over 60 local volunteers contribute to each week's broadcast, providing music and public affairs programming that reflects the unique and independent spirit of the Central Vermont community. http://www.wgdr.org/

BREAD & PUPPET THEATER Politically radical puppet theater founded in the 1960s. While currently based in Glover, VT, it's just too juicy not to mention. Their satirical Uncle Sam on stilts is a highlight of the Fourth of July celebrations in nearby Cabot. http://breadandpuppet.org/
